Fox
Learning Systems offers CD-ROM based courses for the long-term
care industry, and we needed to convert our CD courses into e-learning
to facilitate an international expansion. We did some research
to discover that we needed a learning management system, and that
our courses would need to communicate with the LMS through AICC
or SCORM industry standards. As we uncovered the level of effort
involved in getting courses online, we found that there were so
many vendors and technologies to understand, that we didn’t
know where to start. So, we contacted some e-learning consultants
that we had found through our local contacts, but these consultants
simply did not work out.
But then we
found Solid State. Solid State came highly recommended, giving
us fairly high expectations. Even so, our consultant somehow managed
to exceed our expectations. He researched the market of learning
management systems to find candidates for our requirements and
budget, and then performed a thorough due diligence. Our dedicated
consultant presented a list of options, and explained the pros
and cons in a way that I could easily understand. To our surprise,
he found a system at a much lower cost than what we had previously
found, and further negotiated the cost to what we were willing
to pay. In fact, the difference in cost easily paid for the consultant’s
services.
Our consultant
stuck with us throughout the project, and managed the course conversion
project so that I could focus on other things. With a small team
of developers, he was able to lead the project to on-time completion,
and then used hands-on technical skills and thorough testing to
make the courses communicate with our chosen LMS.
We have been
very happy with the professionalism of Solid State. They have
